In addition to my teaching at the University of York and Trent College, I also give private lessons to intermediate and advanced guitar pupils in both the Leicester and York areas.
In my teaching I emphasise a strong technical foundation, but always at the service of creative and joyous music-making--my goal is to help the student achieve their musical goals and discover their musical potential. My current students include keen amateurs, university students with professional aspirations as well as professional guitarists with special interests in areas of contemporary repertoire or improvisation/composition. I also teach theory and composition on a private basis.
